Health Grains that You haven't heard of

Hey All,

We all know it that grains are an important part of healthy diet eating grains, especially whole grains, provide health benefits. People who eat whole grains as a part of diet have a reduced risk of chronic diseases, cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes and certain cancer.
Whole grain diets can also improve bowel health by helping to maintain regular bowel movements and promote growth of healthy bacteria in the colon and it’s not at all easy to tell which food is whole grain. Every bread, cereal or snack packaging, and virtually everyone promotes its whole grain goodness. But not all of them are actually whole grain. Terms like multigrain, 100% wheat, cracked wheat, organic, bran and blah blah may sound healthy, but none actually indicates the product is whole grain.

Now you must be feeling bored ok let me come to the point J

Here are grains you have probably never heard of that can be great additions to a healthy diet:

Bulgar
Bulgar another derivative of wheat, it’s result of boiling, drying and cracking wheat kernels. It’s incredibly versatile in dishes and cooks in about the same amount of time as pasta.

Sorghum
Sorghum is a gluten free grain that can be a great option for those with celiac disease and it’s also super versatile can be used as flour in baked goods, popped like popcorn, or used to make beer J.It’s even higher in polyphenol antioxidants than the pomegranates.

Spelt
Spelt is a type of wheat that is higher in protein than other types, and in flour form can easily be used as a substitute for wheat flour.

Red rice
White rice, Brown rice now Red rice ???? confused L A type of yeast growing on rice grains yields this fun colored food and the health benefits are pretty astounding . Long used for its medicinal properties in Asian countries, Red rice grain is getting popularity in the US for its cholesterol-lowering properties.

Indian rice grass
Indian rice grass, also known by the brand name Montina, is a staple of native America diets nad gaining popularity in the gluten free community. Pure Indian rice grass flour is super high in protein and fiber.

Wheat Berries
Wheat berries are a way to get wheat in its most natural state – whole kernels with only the hull removed. This means they contain all the grain’s nutrients and minerals. One half is a great serving of selenium, manganese, phosphorous, magnesium and lignin, a phytochemical  that may help protect breast cancer.

Triticale
When wheat and rye meet and fall in love , they make triticale, a hybrid of two grains that’s been around since the 1960s.

Buckwheat
Native to Russia, buckwheat is actually not a type of wheat at all, it’s an herb! More closely related to rhubarb than to wheat. Its seeds are ground into flour or crushed to make groats, which are cooked like rice.

Fonio
Fonio might be a tiny of millet, but there’s a ton of nutritional value in this grain. It’s rich in amino acids – specifically methionine, which helps liver process fat, and cysteine, which is the part of proteins that make up our hair, nails, and skin. Fonio is also one of the grain highest in magnesium, zinc and manganese.

Farro
Same grain, different name (depending on location) – emmer is the American term for it’s known as faro in Italy, where it has rich history. This ancient strain of wheat was rationed to roman soldiers thousands of years ago. A half cup of farro has more fiber and fewer calories than brown rice and quinoa.

Kamut
Kamut is a brand name -  most commonly used name for the ancient khorasan strain of wheat. It’s great source of wheat. It’s a great source of protein, with 11 grams per cup, as well as nutrients like selenium, zinc, and magnesium.

Amarnath
This grain is high in fiber and it’s also a great source of the amino acid, calcium and squalene, a compound that may help prevent cancer. Plus it’s a protein power house.

I know it’s too much for today but the list is too long J anyways I will stop myself here.

Product Description

Directions for use

You know well hmmm J

Ingredients

Price

Rs 650 for 6.4 gms

What I feel

About packaging NYX powder blushes comes in small black box with a flip open transparent lid to easily identify the shade. Packaging is really nice to carry easily in bags but don’t forget to take your own mirror as no mirror is provided with this. Pigmentation is superb and only a single swipe is more than enough for natural glowing look but you can swipe more for darker shade its quite smooth in texture glides easily on my cheeks. It blends easily without giving unnatural, cakey or choky look.
I really liked the staying power for me it lasts more 6-7 hours. It can be easily removed by makeup remover. It’s in matte look with no shimmery effects so can be easily used in daylight and good pigmentation so can also be used in parties with more swipes.
For me it provides a natural glow to boost my face. It would go best for fair to medium skin tones but don’t think suit for dusky skin girls.

Pros

Good packaging
Pigmented
Staying power
Natural shade
No Simmers
Easily removable
Full list of ingredients
Easy availability
Small quantity is required

Cons

I don’t think so but yeah little costly

Rating

4.5/5 (0.5 deducted as it’s pricey)

Recommendation

A must try shade if you looking for natural blush.

AROMA MAGIC Nourishing Dew Cream

Hey All,

After my haul post now it’s time to review products so, here I am reviewing my 1st product i.e., Blossom Kochhar AROMAGIC Nourishing Dew Cream.

My camera batteries got over so downloaded this pic from Google

What company claims?

It’s a light textured day cream that is non-greasy  and absorbs quickly nourishes and moisturizes to relieve dryness, Renews skin vitality to make it fairer, supple and youthful.

Directions for use

Use regularly morning and night after cleaning the face (I don’t know why they have mentioned night too here as in above claim they are saying day cream J)

Ingredients

Extracts of rosemary, Jasmine, Vitamin A, C and E, Pure organic essential oils of Geranium, Vetiver and peppermint (Peppermint ohhh now I got this why I feel cooling effects while applying)

Price
Rs. 210

Net wt.
50 g

Shell Life
2 years from DOM

My opinion
As I have dry skin this product I ordered while searching randomly for dry skin creams and moisturizers thought to give it a try as I heard a lot about Aroma magic before. This is my 1st product from aroma magic.
The packaging is as usual white tub with a red cap. Cream is kind of transparent in texture a little amount of this cream is enough for application as it spread well due to little runny kind of texture.
As it claims to reduce fine lines but I am not worrying about this whether it will or not because my main purpose is to get rid of dryness nothing else and yeah till now it’s working well I am applying this immediately after washing my face (Yeah we all know this is the best time for applying any cream or moisturizer for better absorption) I really liked the mild fragrance of this and cooling effect J

Pros
Packaging no need to cut the tube for last drop :P ( I don’t know you too do this or not )
Price
Fragrance
Good for dry skin

Cons
May not be good for oily skin peoples and also for dry skin beauties in winters
Don’t know whether it will work on fine lines or not

BST Rating
3.5/5

Repurchase
Yeah I will

Hope you guys liked my review of Aroma magic nourishing dew cream

What are the factors that affect our nails growth I think vitamin deficiencies, age, season, gender, hereditary factors, hormonal imbalance, regular use of nail paints etc.

Home remedies for Nail Growth

Almond oil, jojoba oil, flax seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, wheat germ oil and vitamin E oil work as excellent Nail Growth home remedies.

Green tea, white tea, almond extract and aloe vera are also useful in increasing Nail Growth.
